Spheric: Read This First!
===========================
Spheric is a spherical geometry calculator for Windows 3.1 or
Windows 95/NT (separate 16- and 32-bit vesrions are available).
The program is useful in navigation, geography and astronomy,
but also in "pure" spherical geometry.
It is written and copyright (C) 1993-97 by J.A. Wrotniak.
Spheric is shareware; the details of registration and further
distribution are given in the enclosed Help file.
Let us only mention that the $30 registration fee ($33 if you
are using a credit card) covers also the DOS / HP Palmtop version
of the program.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
Any computer capable of running Windows (3.1, 95 or NT) will do.
A color VGA or SVGA monitor is required. A mouse is useful but
not really necessary. If you have a sound board, Spheric will
use it.
The program files need less than 1 megabyte of disk space.
PACKING LIST
The following files should have been enclosed in the set you
have received:
READ_ME.1ST - the one you are reading
SPHERIC.EXE - the program itself
SPHERIC.HLP - the Windows help file
KALKULP.FON -
KALKULT.FON - font files
SPH_ERR
SPH_DON
SPH_INP
SPH_QUE - sound files (optional)
US.FIX - a data file with 30 major US cities
WD.FIX - a data file with 30 major cities of the world
WHATS.NEW - a list of recent changes
FILE_ID.DIZ - short info for BBS and shareware vendors
VENDINFO.DIZ - info for shareware vendors and BBS operators
Two more files are included, although will become useful only
upon program registration:
* USA.FIX, WRD.FIX - larger fix files, defining locations of
major cities (240 in United States and 300 in the world).
Upon registration you will receive one more file:
* SPHERIC.KEY - your personal registration file, with the
serial number and your name embedded (instead of that, you
may receive the registration key to enter manually into the
program).
Registered users of Spheric for DOS / HP Palmtop: copy your
SPH.KEY file renamed to SPHERIC.KEY into the Spheric folder;
it will "register" for you the Windows version and all future
updates.
INSTALATION
Create a new folder on your disk and copy (or unzip) all
distribution files there.
UNINSTALLING
Just delete that folder with all files. Spheric is a well-
behaved program: it does not create any files outside of
its own directory.
